Millennials…the worst, right?

Despite being raised by hard-working parents who tried to instill manners &
class, we can all agree that millennials are the laziest & most unprofessional
people on the market. Freshly graduated, they feel like they’re entitled to do
more than scut work. Jumping around from job to job. Always looking for a
“better fit.” Can’t they just pay their dues & work their way up from the
bottom?

Just kidding…did you really think we would talk about ourselves that way?

In all seriousness, 88% of millennials believe that being part of the right
company culture is very important. And a staggering 78% of people will look into
a company’s reputation as an employer before applying for a job.

With hiring season upon us, & a fresh batch of graduating seniors, here’s some
tips to drive awareness of your brand to get as many people applying to your
company as possible.

A strong employer brand doesn’t just appeal to more applicants, it also helps to
reduce turnover among younger staff. Millennials who are proud to work at their
company & actually love it are way more likely to stay with a company long-term.

With a good employer brand, there is a huge decrease in the cost per candidate
you hire. If your company seeks out the time to make a strong brand for your
business, you will actually be saving money. According to statistics from
CareerBuilder, 67% of millennials said they would take a lower paying job if
they knew the company had strong positive reviews & values. Don’t spend more
money than you have to!

As you continue to build your employer brand, you’ll be able to waste less time
on sorting through unqualified candidates to hire. It’s proven that a strong
employer brand leads to 50% more qualified candidates. This will be a critical
time saver during hiring season. There are so many fresh graduates out there
looking for jobs & you just have to be able to find the right ones. Easier said
than done, am I right? But a bad reputation could cost a company with 10,000
employees up to $7.6 million dollars in additional wages from hiring the
wrong people. The better your reputation, the easier it will be to hire the best
qualified individuals.

But it works two ways! Obviously applicants need to impress you too! But you
already know what you look for in applicants. So what are the things they want
to share that might not be evident while applying? Check out our vlog on the
unspoken “things” millennials want you to notice about them.

By 2020, it is estimated that 46% of all U.S. workers will be millennials. Develop your company brand today & hire the best of the best tomorrow.
